Discovering and appreciating God as the Great Creator forms the very core of the discipline-based fine arts program at Chapel Hill Academy.
Art
Students receive instruction in the elements of art and an understanding of the principles of art through art making. Students will receive instruction in art appreciation, art education, and art production that will enable them to understand art in an historical and contemporary context, to communicate with clarity and discernment regarding their own art work as well as that of others, and to skillfully and intentionally produce quality artwork of a God-honoring nature.

Vocal Music
God has given us the gift of music to glorify Him and give testimony of our faith in Him. By using this gift creatively, we are drawn to worship God, understand His truths and cause others to do the same. Students will receive instruction in music that will bring enjoyment, participation and instruction in communication without words. They learn appreciation of other cultures, historical periods, and a variety of musical styles. Self discipline, discernment, and tolerance both as listeners and performers is developed. Music helps create a sense of serenity and helps the children achieve success as they use their music to bring glory to God.

Instrumental Music
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD. These words from Psalm 150 echo the heart of our instrumental music program. Students are given the opportunity to learn a band instrument beginning in fourth grade. As students progress in their individual ability they are invited to join the Chapel Hill Academy band. Members grow in their ability to read music, listen to others, and perform as a group.
