From major school events, to memorable classroom activities, and engaging daily routines, our Kindergarten classroom is filled with traditions you and your student will come to know and love!

  • Grandparents Day program and classroom activities
  • Performing in the Christmas Musical as characters of the manger scene.
  • Celebrating holidays with class parties
  • Singing our goodbye song at the end of the day

Each year our students participate in fun and educational field trips that correlate with our curriculum. Some of our favorites include:

  • A trip to the Chanhassen Fire Station
  • Exploring nature at the Landscape Arboretum
  • A trip to the Chanhassen Library

Focusing on Character

Our Kindergarten students develop character by:

  • Learning a new character trait of God each week.
  • Memorizing a verse to support who God is and how they can be more like Him!
  • Participating in monthly character celebrations to encourage and recognize all the ways our students are living out the character of Christ.

Practicing Work & Study Habits

Learning work and study habits begins at a young age. Kindergarten students learn to:

  • Finish projects and put in their weekly folder
  • Check out and return library books
  • Organize personal belongings
  • Complete each assignment according to directions
  • Work neatly and carefully
  • Return work on-time and in the proper place

Immersing in Language

Our Kindergarten students start reading and writing early and often.

  • In all areas of language and literature, they build their skills in handwriting and grammar.
  • Students acquire foundational phonics skills and sight word recognition to support reading development.
  • Weekly Spanish class where students are exposed to language and culture.
