Thank you for your interest in Chapel Hill Academy! We are excited to get to know you.

The introductory tour serves as the first interview for admissions. While spending time in the building, the Director of Admissions will engage with parents to learn more about their family, their faith, and their desire for Christian education. Please complete the form below to schedule a tour!

After your tour, we invite you to create a TADS account & submit your online application.

In addition to your online application, a pastor (Preschool-8), teacher (Preschool*-8), and school administrator (1-8) recommendation are required. Please use the following form to generate your recommendation requests:

* PS-K who have been enrolled in classroom or daycare settings

The Gesell assessment is a research-based standardized assessment for young children developed by the Gesell Institute of Child Development which involves observing your child during various activities. The assessment is designed to elicit responses to a number of verbal and action items. This is not an assessment based on chronological or mental age (I.Q.) but rather on areas of development. The results provide us with valuable information regarding student placement.

As part of the admissions process, a CHA staff member will administer an academic assessment to each prospective 1-8 student.* The assessment is used to help confirm grade-level placement and identify potential academic needs.

In order to learn more about each child beyond academics, the assessment administrator will informally interview the student. The interview also offers insight into the child’s faith formation and prior school experiences.

The Director of Admissions will contact families to schedule a placement assessment upon review of the application.

Assessments typically take 60-90 minutes.

The final phase of the admissions process is an interview with the Head of School. At this meeting, parents will share more about their desire for Christian education in regard to their faith journey, parenting, and plans for their children. In order to partner effectively with parents in discipling children, this meeting will help both CHA and the family evaluate potential enrollment at Chapel Hill Academy.

Once the required documents have been received, the placement assessment and required interview(s) are completed, a determination will be made for acceptance into Chapel Hill Academy.

Acceptance offers are based on class availability and student fit. If accepted, you will receive an email including a link to access the online Tuition and Enrollment Agreement.

Admissions Wait Pool

Unlike a traditional wait list, Chapel Hill Academy uses an applicant pool system. This approach focuses on the admissions criteria rather than just the order in which applications are received.

Although we strive to accommodate all families seeking to prioritize a quality Christian education, each grade level has a set capacity to ensure optimal class sizes and teacher-to-student ratios. Applicants meeting the admissions criteria are placed in a wait pool, and as space becomes available, CHA will prayerfully discern which candidate will be selected to continue the admissions process.
